“I've seen professional UV lights like this priced for three times as much, yet here it is. 365nm is still UVA (aka "longwave"), but it is deeper than party lights, which are typically around 400nm. And while there are more and more 365nm LED UV torches on the market, the best have the dark dichroic filter to cut down extraneous blue light and provide excellent contrast. The uvBeast sports a hefty, metal "host" to help with heat dissipation and provide a longer duty cycle. A body extension is also included so that three power cells can be used, instead of just two. This increases run time and turns the uvBeast into a Mag-lite-like baton. The three LEDs are smartly focused for a good, long throw. Pump up those UV mineral specimens, uranium glass, or just gross yourself out with how dirty your house is even after a complete hose-down.”

“I bought the UV Beast to use while night fishing. Normal flashlights attract annoying insects (some are attracted to UV too) and spook fish but UV doesn’t disturb finicky fish as much. When paired with UV fishing line and tackle, you can see your line in complete darkness and watch hookups dozens of feet underwater. The UV Beast was a game changer in my quest for trophy bucketmouths. Highly recommend if you’re a bass fisherman like myself. What I didn’t expect was all the other things I’d see and use this light for. A quick scan of a rocky shoreline in pitch black night will reveal other fisherman’s lost gear like beacons. I’ve collected hundreds of dollars in gear in just a few months. It also illuminates things I’d rather not see, or, I’m glad to see now. Scorpions. I knew we had them locally but had no idea how many there were. Our favorite campsite, deep in Trinity National Recreation Area of NorCal, always felt cozy and safe. While rigging up my poles for a night of fishing, I inadvertently spotted a scorpion inches from my bare feet. I have a deep seated fear of those little buggers and my attention immediately turned to clearing my camp of those hideous things. Or so I thought. In one night, I located at least 150 scorpions in a 100 foot radius of where I used to calmly sleep. After a few nights I was able to begin to understand their habitat and how I could add some separation between us. Thanks to the UV Beast, I was only stung once by one of those satan spiders. The photos I’m sharing are not altered or enhanced. This is exactly how they look. If any part of their body is exposed, even a needle tip piece, they are lit up like Las Vegas on New Years. They cannot hide. A UV flashlight may seem like a useless novelty and it may be to some but to any fisherman, this should be a piece of your kit. It I’ll extend your season and put some hogs in your live well. If you are in an area of the world with alien stinging hell ants, which is most of everything, this will open your eyes and probably dump your shoes before you put them on. Absolutely awesome tool that I can’t recommend enough.”

“As a professional wildlife biologist/naturalist and award winning author and wildlife photographer I have used the entire line of uvBeast flashlights in the past. The latest V3 is by far the best. From it's slim handle which allows a firm grip to the rubber coated on-off switch, the V3 is durable, waterproof and functional. My research involves fluorescing (shinning UV light) on Flying Squirrels at night in the forest. The uvBeast V3 has 3 large LED bulbs that shines a tight beam of UV light well up into the treetops to fluoresce the Flying Squirrels even on the darkest nights. The extra battery barrel (power pack that comes with it) allows me to add a second rechargeable battery to extend my research activities each night and not worry about running out of battery power. Plus having a rechargeable battery saves me money. By far the best UV flashlight on the market.”

“I am relatively new to the black light "scene", however I quickly turned what was just a fascination into fandom. I use black lights for a number of purposes such as mineral identification, fluid leaks, scorpion hunting, finding covered up "repairs" on old items, and even curing resins (using a UV resin, I can cure a coat on a 3d printed item, or other type of bonding in 20-30 minutes vs. hours in the sunlight). I have used a LOT of different lights, and this has been the first company to live up to their advertising, and proudly stand by their products even when things might go wrong. For my purposes I have found the last brand I will ever need as I have nothing to complain about. The light is thoughtfully built, and it shows in the details such as the O-rings throughout and the comprehensive documentation that they have put together for their products. I have also learned quite a bit about LEDs and their varied quality levels. Just like CPUs and other precision electronics there are those pieces that under perform, perform as expected, or in some cases outperform their specifications. This is a good opportunity to employ the old adage "Never judge a book by it's cover". In this case the single most important component is the LED, and what you get in many of the other lights that look frankly very similar in build, are likely the B-C stock LEDs that were passed up by these guys in purchasing. So, I think I'll stick with these guys from now on unless I need to buy a cheap bludgeoning device that also happens to emit some ultra violet light. :) One note for scorp hunters. Speaking specifically to the V3, this light produces a VERY strong center beam. So strong, in fact, that direct contact with the center of the beam will make most retreat if possible. I find that the aura of the beam is more than sufficient for observing only, but I actually enjoy that this light can be used to "shoo" away the pointy little things from the camp site etc. without having to get physical! Moths, and other flying things, however, will consider you the most sexy thing on the planet, so unless your objective is to mate with an insect, I would suggest keeping the beam ground bound! All of this said, I will let the results speak for themselves. I have attached an image of a very curious crystal/mineral that I happened upon under normal light, and then under the beast. I do believe that the amount of power reflected back by the crystal from the beast's sub-visible beam power made the sensor on the camera cry... Pro Tip: Many people don't know most laundry detergent contains phosphors to give your close that extra "umf" when light hits them (it almost seems like cheating, right??). As such, those same phosphors in concentration will light up as if radioactive under a ultra violet light! There is an immeasurable amount of fun to be had peopling the earth with hidden UV messages... ;) Or if you MUST be practical in all things, this is also a good way to check your washer's effectiveness. Glowing spots in the laundry are a good leading indicator of a sub-par wash!.”

“Everyone should love their children as much as these folks love UV flashlights. I live in NY and bought them for fun and photography - with neon / fluo colors . The attached are direct from my Samsung Note 10 plus - no edit. These guys are serious about their lights. I've collected knives and tactical lights like every other car and motorcycle collector ;) This is military grade , great machining & finish - and perfect customer outreach. Just enough to get someone like me who rarely writes reviews to do so - but not enough to worry about unsubscribing ;) 5 Stars.”

“I see super bright white LED flashlights just about everywhere, but a super bright UV LED flashlight, until now, didn't exist. I live in a dark area of the desert near Phoenix Arizona and must go scorpion hunting weekly to keep the populations under control in my yard (to keep them out of my house). If you didn't know, UV light makes scorpions glow brightly. The uvBeast V3 uses 2 (or 3 with extension tube) rechargeable 18650 batteries to provide the energy needed to keep 3 massively powerful UV LEDs running at full brightness for several hunting sessions. I can see the bigger scorpions on a wall over 50 feet away ! The V3 also helped me find a very slow water leak I didn't know about. Water was leaking in a wall behind a faucet and was flowing out the slab into the ground. I assume the calcium left behind after the water dried, caused the yellow/green glow I found while scorpion hunting. Anyway, this is absolutely the best UV flashlight currently available, forget all the others. Do pay close attention to the battery information and instructions provided with the V3, especially if you buy your own 18650 batteries. The 18650 batteries can be tricky. Some have a totally flat + terminal (no raised post) which can make them useless for anything other than a paperweight. I currently use a multi-cell charger from NiteCore to charge the batteries for the V3 so I have not tried the charger provided with the V3. I always use the included extension tube to hold 3 cells in order to get max beam time. The uvBeast V3 is a fantastic UV flashlight that I highly recommend. (and for me, complements are almost as rare as gold). I cannot imagine that the folks at uvBeast can top this model, but if they ever do, it would have to be pretty impressive. ---BobL---.”

“After having tried out a couple of cheaper 395nm UV flashlights that showed too much purple (and made urine identification more difficult), I'm glad to have made an upgrade to this 365nm UV light. It costs more, yes, but it's worth the extra cost for its higher performance, better filtering, and longer range. I like that the two 18650 batteries are rechargeable and how the charger was included in the kit. The only issue I encountered was not looking inside the battery compartment and taking out the circular piece of paper inside. Until I figured out that the piece of paper was preventing the batteries from providing power to the flashlight, I thought the product was a DOA (dead on arrival). With that piece of paper gone, the flashlight powered on normally. 😆After having used both 395nm and 365nm UV flashlights, I definitely recommend people to spend a bit more and get the 365nm. It works a lot better.”

“When our old dermatology woods light disappeared our office new we needed an upgraded replacement. we purchased two types of black light and this model is far better quality. it can be used to quickly find ringworm, abrasions on the cornea, fungal infections, and bacterial infections. it also great for quickly identifying areas that need deep cleaning..”

“It's in the name, Beast! I used the extension tube and added 3 18650 batteries for extended runtime and even in daylight, this UV flashlight will cause bright fluoresces of material. In the dark, it's insane and has a decent focal beam for farther distances. There is spillover in the dark but this is to be expected. Even the spillover causes a bright Florence of materials. Inside the focused beam, it's a game-changer for me. I own many UV flashlights and even some UV floods which are higher wattage than the flashlight but you need AC power for these to operate, so they are not as convenient. Out of all my UV battery-powered flashlights, this is the best yet. The construction is very good, aluminum, glass lens, and well-weighted. Even with the extension tube attached, this flashlight is balanced fairly well and is not too clumsy. Here are some pros and con's. Pros: - Good construction - Very Bright - Good Beam Focus (For Distance) - Long battery life with the supplied extension tube attached. - Well Balanced. Cons: - Slight UV light spillover (Not too bad) - Accessories like batteries, chargers, glasses are not top-of-range quality. Expected though, use your own high-quality batteries and charger for better performance.”

“I was blown away by what I saw with the previous generation UV Beasts, but as others have said this one's on a whole new level. Our biggest funk has been microfibers. We went a little overkill with sheets, blankets, robes, vests, jackets, etc. and clearing out the microfibers they shed has been challenging. Being able to see just how much more of it is actually stuck on everything (especially in our bedding) has been a tremendous help in the defibering effort. My recommendations is to get x2 V3 365 nm flashlights along with one of the normal V3 UV Beast. While you can't see as much microfiber with the normal V3, but its brighter in general and helps to see for navigation purposes. Battery life is excellent; goes for 4-5 hours at a time before needing to be recharged. Durability is still an unknown; but its been working well for the past couple of weeks”

“I purchased this blacklight for detecting potential leaks in a containment. I need to be able to see fine, discrete fluorescent powder that may settle around entry point to confirm that the containment has not been compromised. This blacklight is perfect for inspections at long distances (aprox. 15 ft) in a well lit room; And at close proximity the blacklight allows me to photograph the fine particulate without blowing out the picture with higher wavelength light.”
